Want to transform the education system? Frustrated with the problems in your building and the lack of staff voice and control to change them? The Social Justice Education Movement, the K-12 Education organizing committee of the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World, a labor union for all workers) wants you to attend an Organizer Training!

Our goals are to build skills and relationships with staff from across the education justice movement in the Twin Cities, envision the future, and connect people to a framework for local collaboration. We bring our extensive local experiences, and the outstanding two-day long IWW Workplace Organizer Training to get people the skills they need to be powerful change agents in their schools. The IWW Workplace Organizer Training 101 focuses on very practical skills for organizing at your workplace, and this SJEM training will be taught by K-12 education workers and focus specifically on giving you the skills you need to organize at your school.

Most trainings take place in Minneapolis at the IWW Office (2101 Hennepin Ave S). A registration fee on a sliding scale of $10-$20 is requested for each attendee and funds go towards food, training materials, and childcare costs. No one, however, is turned away for lack of funds. We offer breakfast, lunch, childcare and a manual with the training.

This training is open to anyone interested in organizing at their workplace. While the training is tailored towards K-12 education workers, the training uses the the IWW Organizer Training 101 curriculum and will also be relevant to anyone interested in organizing at their workplace.
